Sorry for the absence I was way too stubborn about how to handle interactions but I have now moved on. Handling things through the objects Area2D now instead of the player nodes.

I've made ice physics :D
Since I felt that doing only ice was too simple I decided to try my hands at textboxes and dialogue. It did not got go well.
They didn't work and I don't know why because the tutorial I watched was far too big brain for me to understand.

Made a system to switch between rooms in a scene. I just have an area node that teleports the player and switches the camera.
Only issue I have is if a room has multiple entrances, I'll need multiple camera nodes, but the issue is very minor.
