If I want to drill down, I pick a source that's center weighted - Rueters, Newsweek, like that. I stay off the obvious Left and Right outlets.

My system is to go to the Google news aggregator. If there's a topic that catches me I click through to the headlines on it, which is usually enough because they're coming from a couple of dozen media sources across the bias spectrum.
