There’s been no detected boat crossings for the last 18 days, that’s the longest period for nearly 2 years. I think this is a trend that’s not solely explainable by weather.

More ensure we get tax income from the right places rather than it being siphoned out to international organisations or hidden in EBITDA costs to minimise liability.

This is true, but like all if this, the balance is preventing the perception of kowtowing to EU rules.
Easy win for the rabid right wing "news" channels if we have to undo things that were obviously for the greater good of Engerland....
