I picked this one up about 7 years ago. It's got a few fun games (e.g. Wario Land), but uncomfortable for anything longer than a 30 minute session. 3D Boy would have been a better name, but the 90s gotta 90s
Its controller is underrated with a trigger design reprised on the GameCube years later

Almost a whole second improvement now that I'm negating some speed loss.

That is sad to hear. Similar to yourself, I've only really got into Mac stuff in the past couple of years - a bright orange iMac G3 pulled me down the rabbit hole of fixing up some Mac Classics and most recently a Centris 410 which was in poor shape and is at this moment now running next to me.
