Like, be real with yourself right now: how isolated do you feel? How alienated from your fellow humans? What's your neighbour's name? When was the last time you collaborated with someone in your community?

I'm not saying "bring religion back," but I am saying that religion gives a society something valuable and essential that secularism has yet to replace, and people are feeling it

This would be great if it were replaced with anything other than rampant consumerism. Because less public ritual = more isolation front community; weaker personal belief = stronger personal insecurity; loss of religious identity = accumulation of identity crises

Correction: I want to interact with people who don't know how awful I am so I can live in the space of potential and wonder for a while

Also many of my housemates are disabled and physically cannot clean, so if I want the house to be presentable, I'm going to have to navigate cleaning up their messes, which always makes them feel awkward
