Bastet doodle/sketch.

I'm not exactly happy with it, but I'm trying to break away from the feeling that I should only share my "good" art.

After all, what is good? It's all subjective, & to hell with it- I enjoyed the process & today, that is enough.
A pen and ink sketch made in a journal, featuring the Egyptian goddess, Bastet. The sketch still shows pencil lines and is not refined. The artist (me) is irritated with themselves that it didn't turn out exactly how they planned, but that's okay. Sometimes it's about just enjoying the process. Also, there's a written notation in the bottom right corner, which is a response to a quote about trusting the universe. The artist writes, "I'm trying, with varying degrees of success". Giving up control is hard, folks.

A painting I did for my mentor, Delila. We were supposed to see Wardruna together. Covid took her life. I then caught it too & was unable to attend the concert for us, for her. I cried my eyes out while listening to Wardruna, painting this memorial instead. F!ck Covid. Miss you, Delila. So much.

Right: Reclamation. I'm working through my past. Kintsugi was the inspiration behind this sketch.

I found inspiration in, of all places, a Squishable. I didn't know these things had a name, & once I learned that, I just had to sketch them! See also medieval illustrations & paintings- you know them, you just didn't know you knew, lol!
