The rust code was not the cause, just the last brick in the line of a unrecoverable state, the same would have happened if they used a assert in another language. As that is effectively what using .unwrap() in that situation would do.

That said they def should do better in error handling.

I really hate those guys on solo runs.

You might be able to setup a build environment using WSL.

Yeah, something akin to the how the Castlevania advance collection works.

I got it running in the engine, but worried about a few things, mainly the need for a bios, I seen a open source reimplemenation around though.

Yeah sure, really "owning" it to them when you use the engine that literally pulls the same code from upstream.

People who were mad about Godot being "woke" are at best just adding a extra step to using what is basically Godot, whole thing seems silly to me.

You mean the engine that can legally be distributed with the tooling they make without having to be downloaded separately, that has a very small filesize footprint and can be ran on some pretty old hardware?

Yeah sure...inaccessible...

Made my own tooling workflow for Godot for making VNs, I went into it specifically with the goal of creating a system where a non-coder could make a VN, as this was for a friend.

I left my email if you wanna hear about it, unsure if my approach is decent or not but could be good feedback for you.

The model itself.
