Well I think it's cause they figured from Stains perspective it would've been, but yeah no. As much as I love Stain the letter was creepy.

I think it's cause in the manga/anime they refer to it as "some kind of love letter" or a "weird love letter" (I can't remember 100%) but that's the only reason I can imagine people still calling it that.
