truthfully though there will almost definitely be a sentence using both 韩 and 汉 later on, they're usually pretty careful about giving you good practice with near-homophones. if not i can just make a practice playlist myself i guess!

after more contemplating i guess i would try to express "in the show that i have been watching" like "我最近在看的电视剧上" but thinking about it some more I feel like it might be more precise to say smth like 这+mw this show or 一+mw a/one show, pleco says the mw is 部, giving myself a headache

de is like a white spoon that scoops things up... 时 is like an inch of daytime... get back in there!!!!!

hyping myself up like come on de is 白 plus 勺 shí is 日 and 寸 you got this you got this

the thing i'm especially unsure about is the 我看的...上 part. aside from how i think there's probably a more correct way to convey "had been watching" (as opposed to "watched") im just not sure any of that is in the right place in that sentence. excited for that grammar book!

i love these!

(re: "clothes," i would say "cloth" or "fabric." "clothes" is usually for stuff that is worn on the body. for example: the weaving on a loom is cloth, but a finished scarf is clothes or clothing. ☺️)

and, I don't know, extensive reading is all well and good but they only have so many lessons at my level

du chinese thinks that 10 repetitions is enough to learn* a word?? somehow??

*here meaning, putting it even temporarily into your long term memory instead of immediately dumping it out as soon as it stops being immediately relevant (adhd memory...)

i mean, i intend to continue using the repetition training after i run out of lessons because it's *great*, but words just don't stick anywhere near as easily anywhere else

words work so differently in chinese to english and it's a never ending delight
