It has details on like every item and enemy, along with a full detailed guide on how to get to the first dungeon. They absolutely would have put that as a tutorial in the game if possible.

People point to the original Legend of Zelda on NES and are like "this game is a masterpiece because they just drop you into hyrule and you have to figure everything out on your own." But, like, actually read the manual that came with the game (www.nintendo.co.jp/clv/manuals/...)
