Like working retail at Christmas.
I’d like to see the average c-suite exec pull an overnight shift at a sporting goods store when they do something ridiculous like open Thanksgiving night for black friday sales. Have them open @ 5am the day before or after Christmas.

I hate/love that movie. Perfect encapsulation of the myopia, self-involvement, and sociopathy of that first wave of boomers.

She’s a good kind of crazy. Once while we were doing yard work she found a dead bird and instead of throwing it in the bin with the rest of our yard waste she insisted I dig a hole under one of the trees for a proper burial. She even had a little ceremony too.

Fantastic film.
1st entry in the “Paranoia Trilogy” of Alan Pakula (along w/The Parallax View and All the President’s Men, all excellent)

Also many of the original neocons were *actual* anti-Soviet communists. They just (wrongly) made common cause with the right-wing on anti-Soviet policy.
William Kristol supporting Mamdani is less a leap in theory than Schumer supporting Mamdani.

I would classify that as a type of mental illness, but one that is rendered somewhat invisible due to our system. Politics, business, and entertainment privilege extreme narcissists. The kind who would have been institutionalized in any other context.

I have a theory that his mental illness is so severe that he functionally cannot process the world beyond the late-80s (ie just before his business collapse/bankruptcy). It explains so much about him even before his brain turned to mush recently.
He is forever in an era of his success.

No. He’s be surrounded by such a bubble of wealth and privilege his whole life (and particularly of a New York type of privilege) that I doubt he’s ever been grocery shopping or driven or taken the train or even prepared food for himself.
