Barry Mullins.... inventor of PCR
@sirmasksalot.bsky.social
Ex-environmental scientist. Spent the last 20 years working in research publishing.
The same was also said of the Segway, Google Glass, 3D TV (with at least 3 different technological approaches).

Jealousy is never pretty, which is largely why incels are incels.

Still, at least the stock markets are all hugely inflated on unrealistic AI company valuations. It has been a while since the last spectacular market crash.

It is worse than that because a search engine historically didnt invent stuff that doesnt actually exist while claiming that it did.

A chunk of AI citation is "trust me, bro" BS.

This. History is filled with awful people that have achieved amazing things.

It doesn't make their achievements any less amazing, or their awfulness any less horrendous.

Can't read the whole paper.

And yet we have a net £37bn hole in GDP.
October 20, 2025 at 2:10 PM
Yes. Obviously, particularly given that the quid pro quo was worth £37bn per year.
October 20, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Yes, because having neighbours with strong economies to whom you can export goods and services is a terrible problem. Who amongst us hasnt hoped for export partners unable to afford to trade with us due to poverty.
