This is insane.

I grew up going to the Corsicana area a lot - my grandparents lived near there, and it's not a real big place.

On top of this, I had a headhunter for one of these places contact me last year. The more they told me about their tech stack, the more nightmarish it sounded.

No thanks

The wife brought home a new roommate on Friday.

It's been...an experience 😅

Yesterday, the social worker from our school called to let me know they were sending home yearbooks. We had sent them pictures for this, so we knew it was coming

They also dedicated the school spelling bee in Zane's honor a couple weeks ago

The school has gone above and beyond to remember him ❤️ 💔

Today I'd like to share a tool I recently wrote called Rulehound. It's a detection ruleset catalogue and search engine containing over 7,500 rules from 5 distinct sources. More details in thread.

I finally made the time to learn how to load VM snapshots into MemProcFS for investigation and I'm mildly disappointed that, after looking at two whole servers, I have found absolutely nothing of interest 😐😅

I am so fscking burnt out right now and it's only getting worse. 😐
Actual footage of my boss' reaction this morning when I tried to discuss the fact that my frustrations at work are directly tied to him, and not to how much money I am or am not making:

First go at tying a fly.

Since it'll probably end up snagged in a bush somewhere anyway, I'll take it.

To be fair, they probably still have Picard saved as Locutus in their contacts list.

I had hope that the reviews for the Section 31 were overblown, but...good lord.

This is worse than watching the Doom movie.

I wanted a script I could run on a new Windows box that would install sysmon with @olafhartong.nl's configs, and set logging best practices with Zach Mathis' (Yamato Security) "EnableWindowsLogSettings" configs.

So I made one! Feel free to inspect it and repurpose.

I gave in and bought the CISSP book a month or so ago with the idea that it would likely be something easy to knock out that would be situationally useful for me.

I haven't been able to get as invested in studying it as I normally do with certifications, and I finally think I know why.

I just realized...since my telework schedule has been reverted back to my old schedule, my kids will be in school, and my wife will be at work, tomorrow will be the first day I've been alone by myself since my son died.

I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not...

Kinda makes me nervous tbh

I've had two separate friends check in on the state of my mental health in the last 24 hours.

I do appreciate it...I just wish it wasn't something my friends should legitimately be concerned about 🙃
