It wasn't. My point was that people weren't going to listen to Dems about the economy regardless of what they said because of the experience they had with inflation.

But Harris wasn't perceived as a centrist. She was perceived as a leftist mostly because of cultural issues.

That doesn't change the fact that Sherill and Spanberger ran as centrists in centrist states and crushed their opponents.

We agree, truly, that they need to build a working class majority. The working class also doesn't want to be lectured on cultural issues.

And it's hard to sell economic populism after they were in charge when inflation did what it did.

Harris lost because she was foisted on the public after the corpse withdrew without the party going thru the nomination process and defining what they were for.

Without that, the preconceptions of what they were and what they thought Harris was stuck.
November 15, 2025 at 4:30 AM
Yet centrists like Sherill and Spanberger did quite well.
November 15, 2025 at 4:19 AM
It's true that no one trusts Dems but it has more to do with putting up a corpse for President until July.

Trump said he was anti DEI, anti immigrant, and anti Trans extremism. That's what people wanted to hear.

The opposite were all things ascribed to Harris and Dems.
November 15, 2025 at 4:13 AM
If everyone knows it, why did they elect a billionaire for President?
November 15, 2025 at 4:02 AM
Convincing people comes first, then legislation. Gay marriage is the perfect example. The law changed only after the conversion happened. And this week, a conservative SCOTUS refused to hear a challenge.
November 15, 2025 at 3:39 AM
Harris lost for a lot of reasons, but one of them was that people didn't trust Dems redefining norms and they trusted Rs more.

And it's not about giving up on issues. It's about convincing people first. The politics only come after buy in.

1M people voted for Mamdami. Nearly 2M voted for Sherril and Spanberger each. Mamdami worked for very left NYC. Great! But Sherill and Spanberger's message is way better for the majority of the country.

Identity politics will kill the Dems nationally.

It's really that simple.
November 13, 2025 at 3:03 PM
Does anyone know when we are going to get a vote on the Epstein files now that Grijalva looks to be seated?
November 12, 2025 at 1:01 AM
That being said, I'd never hire a lawyer in any capacity that said she's mad at psychics because they told her she'd pass the bar.

Nuff said
November 11, 2025 at 4:28 AM
The Dems lost me when they didn't do anything to stop Biden in 2023 from running again.

And yes, even the far left was complicit.
November 10, 2025 at 7:56 PM
That was easy
November 9, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Poor decision to go for it, but glad the way it worked out.
November 9, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Counterpoint: Don't forget the male loneliness panic. When 15% of men report they have no close friends, that's a problem. 10% of women reporting the same is a huge problem too, but it's still more profound in men.

Economic terrorism

Still doesn't mean they'll vote Dem. If the problem is Trump, well, Trump won't be there forever despite what he says.
November 5, 2025 at 8:13 PM
This year definitely isn't an "all-in" year. I'm fine with this acquisition and approach.
November 5, 2025 at 6:40 PM
That's at least somewhat of a win.
