This still isn't talking about in one single day like the original graphic you posted lol. You wont shoot up a whole pound of fat in a single day from eating 2920 cals, you know that already. Yes, we cannot know precisely how much you need to eat at once to gain a pound of fat, but +3500 is closeish

it's more complicated than just "3500 extra cals = 1 pound" but it's an ok guideline. It is true that you cannot gain a pound from eating like 500 cals over your maintenance.
