When the last tree is cut, the last fish is caught,
and the last river is polluted;
when to breathe the air is sickening,
you will realize, too late,
that wealth is not in bank
accounts and that you can't eat money.

Memories of my time in Ireland.
Hiking Knockma Hill, I came upon this gorgeous ancient tree with a tiny fairy door. Naturally, as one does, I left a small gift of berries in the crook of the trunk. 🧚‍♀️✨🇮🇪

Hoping you are hanging in there, & finding moments for rest & self care amidst the madness. Sometimes that means snuggling back under the covers like Zelda, or like me, today, it means wiping my tears, taking a deep breath & stepping out to soak up some sunshine to do the things that must be done. 🫶

Well, well, well…I’ve been waiting for the the 🍊menace to slip up & spill the beans & I think so many of us have known that something wasn’t adding up with the election results. He just couldn’t keep himself from gloating tonight about how he & Musk were able to pull this off and rig the system.

and Mother Moon
and stars scattered

Red Sun
on His scorching rise
searing
tearing at black-bleak sky
ball of fire above
setting below ablaze
shot through gunmetal gray piercing the endless haze
that surrounds
envelops
near suffocates
the long-shrouded cityscape

It's Turkey Day Eve and a flock of about 10 hens came by for a visit this morning, along with these two hanging out in the trees in my backyard. 🦃🦃

City squirrel’s in autumn really are a whole other level of bold.

At 76 years old, still a badass hippie witch, writing a new, powerful protest song to add to her long list of truly iconic songs that span decades, performing and touring worldwide, and embracing and encouraging the next generation of artists.
Still weaving her magic.
What a legend! ✨🌙🖤🖤🖤

The Sun, who scatters His dappled light far and wide, shimmering the waters,
has decided,
on a whim perhaps
and for this moment,
to gather up the sparkles
and cast them all like tiny fallen stars before her as she stands at edge of the flooded shoreline.

Water falls
rushing over rocks below
its splashing spray
suspended above
the river’s freezing flow
caught mid-air
in Winter’s grip
whose icy fingers
fashion and form
shapes and spheres
and cicles luminous

I pause my wander
to wonder
noting the warp & weave
of the wood
the twist & bend of branches
their brittle cold limbs, still bare
reach high
to a whitewashed sky
& sway & creak
with Winter’s last sighs
And it's here, again
as it's always been
that I have found
Love amongst the trees

Heart of Ice
I went to the river
that winds its way
through the woods
to find what's left of
Winter's chill
a frozen Heart remains

Catching the fast
fleeting colors of Dawn
as blue gives way
to rose gold pink
mingling but a moment
washing all the world in lavender
