I love all the red herrings being thrown in with The Owen.
Hangman and Ospreay both have good reasons to win and lose this tournament and compelling programs coming out of it win or loss.
Great booking.

"Look Dad, she knocked all those Barbies down."
- my daughter giving her new Timeless Toni Storm doll her rightful place at the top of the toy pecking order.
She even knows how to pose her up!

@joshrobinson.bsky.social hey mate, I know you are mostly a WWE guy but are you going to AEW Grand Slam?
January 12, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Lots to love on Dynamite but the thing that caught my eye most was MJF.
He always cuts great post match promos but there seemed to be a fire there that I hadn't seen in quite a while.
A pumped up, motivated,on his game MJF is a great tool for AEW to have.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat Promo of the Year: Hangman & Swerve, All Out go home.
Instantly iconic visuals but the greatness is in the tone it set at the start.
"Low Ceilings"
So well shot & delivered by Hangman, Swerve in ring was also underrated.
Masterpiece.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat Male Wrestler of the Year: Swerve Strickland (@swerveconfident.bsky.social)
His peak at Forbidden Door, All In & All Out was untouched in & out of the ring by anyone else this year.
Carried himself as the most important wrestler in the world in all aspects.
January 2, 2025 at 1:07 PM
AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat Women's Wrestler of the Year: Willow Nightingale
An all-rounder who lights up the crowd every time she appears. MOTY contender against Kris & strong performances against a number of others. Miss Dependable for the division.
January 2, 2025 at 12:56 PM
AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Tag Team of the Year: The Young Bucks
Even they would admit it wasn't their best year but still the highest performing tag team in AEW. MOTY contender with Darby & Sting and many other strong matches to support.
January 2, 2025 at 12:52 PM
AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Wet Fart of the Year: Adam Cole & MJF Story continues when we are begging them to stop it.
Sadly a very hot contested award from a bunch of wrestlers in very high-profile programs who should know better. Could be any of these really.
January 2, 2025 at 12:50 PM
AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Gooba of the Year: Harley Cameron (@harleycameron.bsky.social)

Such a joy to see on screen. Genuinely funny, multi-talented, always happy to stooge off and show figurative arse. Harleygram was amazing.
A perfect numskull heel to have on the card.
January 2, 2025 at 12:49 PM
AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Debutante of the Year: Will Ospreay (@willospreay.bsky.social)

Set the world of AEW alight from the second he debuted. Predictably one of the best in ring all year but was also one of the strongest on the mic as well.
A highlight of every show he was on.
January 2, 2025 at 12:46 PM
AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat Nut Trucker of the Year: Mark Briscoe
Always entertaining in any role, comedy, serious, in ring, on the mic. Created a stable of randoms on the power of his charisma alone. Rarely high profile but always trucking nut forward.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Rookie of the Year goes to: Mariah May (@mariahmay.bsky.social)

One of the best segments of the year in her turn on Toni Storm and a very good match at All In. Also strong performances in ring throughout the year with improvements in presentation too.

The one night story of Will Ospreay at World's End was incredible.
Bruv manages to overcome a personal rival in the semis but is beaten bloody. Comes into the final against a guy he has never beaten clean and despite running hot his previous beating means he cannot get it done.
December 29, 2024 at 10:52 PM
Overall World's End was a fantastic wrestling show. The C2 matches were incredible with Will Ospreay making me reconsider my pick of WOTY with an absolute shift. Beyond that the women really stood out too. I didn't hate the main event but the 'big return' fell flat with me.
December 29, 2024 at 12:30 PM
So I guess they are just dropping the FTR & Outrunners program so they can continue to have completely stale characters but instead have a vanity run with an old dude cause the last old dude got fired.
