Michael Chaves’ THE NUN II is as lousy and almost as bland as its predecessor - still the weakest link of ‘The Conjuring’ series, by the way. Some gory, violent scenes and thrilling (but overstretched and way overdone) third act give the movie a little edge but it’s mostly all over the place.

What else hasn’t been said about TALK TO ME? Yes, it’s batshit wild and crazy. Yes, it’s unsettlingly fun and scary. Yes, Sophie Wilde is absolutely fantastic. And yes, it’s a VERY impressive directorial debut from Danny and Michael Philippou. This might be the best horror of the year.

As an origin story, BLUE BEETLE is pretty simple, and frankly, feels recycled. The film’s technically sound, with good production values and credible performances from the cast. But it’s the film's sincere depiction of Mexican-American family that stands out as particularly refreshing and authentic.
