I desperately wanted to like The Acolyte, I wanted it to prove the dude bros wrong, but I really feel it wasn’t up to the same standard as other SW shows. It had a lot of potential but it just fell so flat for me.

Yeah that’s the angle I was thinking of, on a second watch it couldn’t help but get the same vibes (obviously worlds apart in terms of movies, but you get what i mean)

It’s not 100% a bad thing, there’s a lot to love about Romulus, most of my issues with it lie in the second half. But the forced nostalgia moments feel so misplaced and lazy in a movie I thought was going to be more of an independent take.

Yeah exactly and then seeing the same men over and over again just gets tired.
