Anthropologist at #Rutgers studying disability, health, gender, inequality, evolution. Former program officer at #NSF. Mom, #DisabledinSTEM, musician. Passionate about #STEM #equity and #inclusion. Repost != endorsement. Views mine.
This is @repwalkinshaw.bsky.social writing my son a lovely note because my son had to miss the event to be at school. Dynamic, engaging rep not afraid to scuff a suit to connect with a young constituent.

When your lab supports you finding your true self, you know you’re in the right place.

Rutgers’ marble bathrooms rival the majesty of the Lincoln bathroom. I could soak in one of these stalls all day.

Madlibs for the left, except the last stanza. That one never changes.

A friend asked a question. I sought an answer from science and found some really awful stuff in a journal that claims to be credible.

In VT to pick up the kiddo and enjoying this read by @jenheemstra.bsky.social. Love that it’s prompting me to think positively about introverted leadership. Thinking about how to adjust elements (eg retreats) for accessibility. Great read.

🧠 Just presented the closing plenary at hashtag#HBES2025 on managing gender biases in the evolutionary behavioral sciences' story of human exceptionalism.

Encore un pays, encore je m’infuse. I am in France for a conference and infusing to stay well. June is #myastheniagravis awareness month. Grateful to be here to spread the word.

They also asked me to a review a paper with this (partially redacted, for confidentiality) abstract. I pushed back and recommended desk rejection.

Looks like my plenary is causing some fuss over in the other place. Funny no one asked what it’s about.

From Dr. Michael Blakey. Stumbled across this doing some lecture prep and can't say it doesn't resonate hard right now.

Wonderful time delivering the closing talk for the HEIRS opening symposium @icarehb.bsky.social in beautiful Faro. Watch that space for opportunities to engage in human evolution synthesis work!

From @holdenthorp.bsky.social
We need science to help our leaders understand what "biological" means and the variation it inevitably entails. Arguing that there are two genders is a conflation of "gender" and "sex" at best and wrong, regardless.
