Standard? In his first 10 years, Félix posted better numbers than any other pitcher in the American League. I'd even say those numbers alone are enough to get him into the Hall of Fame; there's no need to add what he did afterward. What an unfortunate and personal comment

Félix's peak was so good that the numbers he put up in his first 10 years are enough to get him into HOF

Félix has had an atypical career. His arm was overused and his level of play plummeted. But, registered HOF numbers in his first 10 years

It's true that Félix's final years saw a noticeable decline. His arm was ruined.

But, look at his first 10 years (enough numbers for a HOF):

Félix's case is atypical. His prime was so good that his first 10 years in MLB were enough to earn him a place in HOF

Happy Félix Day

2-3 good years? Good grief. Félix's first 10 years were HOF worthy. That's enough

Félix's numbers in his first 10 years are literally HOF worthy, by modern baseball standards. In other words, if Félix had retired 5 years earlier, his career would have been even better. They overworked his arm, and that's why his decline was so drastic

If Félix had retired right after his tenth season, his numbers would have finished even better. By modern baseball standards, his numbers from his first 10 years are enough for a HOF

Félix put up HOF numbers in his first 10 years in MLB. That's enough. His subsequent decline happened because his team never supported him offensively and overworked his arm. Hamels, on the other hand, never had to worry about that. Félix experienced extreme fatigue in almost every start

Félix has an "atypical" case. If you only consider his first 10 years in MLB... he's a HOF. That is to say, if this guy had retired in his tenth season, first, he would truly be a HOF in everyone's eyes, and second, he would have prevented his team from overusing his arm
