Loves: cats, politics, music, GOOD chocolate. Do not think that giving me chocolate kittens as a gift is in any way acceptable. especially if they are made of inferior chocolate. That's about it really.
He made a big deal about how he reads Iain M Banks' Culture novels. All the Banks' fans have been screaming with rage and contempt, given these books are about a communist utopia...

Thangham Debonnaire has been saying some very wise things. I wish to god she hadn't lost her seat, she would have been an excellent SOS for Culture, Media and Sport. Nandy is, sadly, fairly useless.

I get why people were angry about the original position - I shared that anger. What I don't get is why people like you appear to be even MORE angry when the government does something you actually want them to. It's just daft.

I support the government for changing their minds (and tbh this was only a matter of time, Reeves has always aimed to do this). Don't you think it is good to have a government that is actually prepared to do that?

The Kings' speech did not mention the two child cap. An opposition amendment was put in, which these MPs voted in favour of, despite the whip. This loses you the whip in any party.
November 11, 2025 at 11:44 AM
So what would solve it then? not u-turning? carrying on refusing to make the change you are screaming for?
November 11, 2025 at 11:42 AM
So...you would prefer it if they hadn't changed course? you want to see disability benefits cut? the two child cap to be left in place? I just don't get what you are so angry about.

My friend's neighbour had to sell her house and move her family to a tiny flat because her husband lost £500,000 (yes, HALF A MILLION POUNDS) gambling. That man utterly destroyed his life and his family's lives. I say, tax gambling to the hilt.

In the US, several media companies folded because they had outstanding mergers etc that needed government approval. They couldn't afford to hold out. BBC is not in the same position.
November 11, 2025 at 11:23 AM
I know, this is quite extraordinary. People seem to think the way to change the government's mind is to rage at them for...changing their minds and doing what they wanted...
November 10, 2025 at 7:16 PM
An unbelievable number of fucking morons below raging that Labour should actually dare to change policy to do something they agree with. I despair of this country.
November 10, 2025 at 7:14 PM
But isn't that what you want? A government that actually listens and changes when it realises it has got things wrong?
November 10, 2025 at 7:12 PM
"The government are now doing what I want them to do. Disgraceful! let's vote them out of office and bring in someone who will do NONE of the things I want them to do ".
November 10, 2025 at 7:10 PM
They suspended 7 MPs for voting against the Kings Speech. This is always enough to lose you the whip.
November 10, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Many of whom are, in fact, a lot better off than families with children....
November 10, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Well, that's helpful.
November 10, 2025 at 6:37 PM
A reminder - this is absolute bollocks.
November 10, 2025 at 5:48 PM
Why? so they can stop all housebuilding? cut public spending even further?
November 10, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Exactly, this is why it is such bollocks to keep talking about "too many managers". The NHS is under-managed.
November 10, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Look at the damage Trump has done to the US in just a few months....
November 10, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Fucks sake he could have killed them! what if the vehicle had crashed??
