Fortunately, the vehicle speed limit on that stretch of highway is 70 mph (112 kmph). It still means 2 hours of unpaid travel time just to get to and from your workplace.

OH! You’re European! I’m in the US. Okay, to put it into perspective there’s those of us who commute 60+ km to work daily, largely in a straight line, and the land between those two cities is corn and soybean fields with small townships along the way.

Those of us in rural communities cannot rely on public transportation, regardless of how it’s designed. Driving a car a town over to get on a bus to get to a Greyhound to go an additional 30 miles that runs once a day, to get on another bus to get to work is simply not an option.
