While I'm sad to say goodbye to such a fantastic team, I'm thrilled about this next chapter and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the world.

It's been an amazing journey filled with learning, growth, and collaboration alongside some of the brightest minds in the field. I'm incredibly grateful for the experiences and friendships I've gained.

And then came Gemini. What can one say about projects of this scale...? Well...a lot of things :). For me, helping out with the multimodal post-training and working on the early days of multimodal generation within Gemini are things I'm super proud to have been a part of!

At GDM, I had the privilege of diving back into the world of multimodal AI! Helping out with Flamingo was a privilege... after that, taking those VLMs out for their first few experimental uses and into dialogue-based agents was a real treat. First time I got an inkling of what these things could do!

Guiderails, "get this stuff and you'll get the next thing", learning in more self guided ways often feels so much less ...secure... it might well be a false sense of security, but so far I'm enjoying it.

Obviously a bit of a journey remains there but the first step has been fairly pleasant, it's been 15 years since I attempted to learn anything through a structured course, and I forgot how safe it feels.
