Let's do shadow-work a.k.a journaling!

Get a notebook or a text document, and keep in mind that you don't have to tell anyone what you write, so be totally honest with yourself.

Other things you do and write about on your journaling notebook ✨️

♡ These can be even more helpful for those with low self-esteem and/or people battling depression.

Doesn't matter how long it takes, you can achieve your goals in life and fulfil your dreams.

It's never too late to be yourself, to improve yourself and to love yourself.
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Besides venting, you can use your notebook to keep track of good memories. Rank and rate your experiences!

You went to a museum expecting to be a 5/10, but the experience was an 8/10? What an upgrade!

This way, in the future, you can look back and see that there are good things in your life. ♡

• Treat yourself from time to time.

Buy yourself some flowers! That book you always wanted! Go to that concert!

You don't need to spend money, tho, you can treat yourself just by spending time for yourself: watch a movie/series, read a book/comic, play a game, etc. Enjoy yourself!
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Embrace yourself.

Being confident in ourselves and having high self-esteem is hard. It can take years to be as confident as we wish to be, but it's a process, and it takes time.

Talk well to yourself, don't delete the ugly pics, embrace your silly side, and ignore the "flaws".

• Enjoy little things in life.

Enjoy the sunrise, the sunset, landscapes, ice cream, sweets, any food you like, playing games, reading (from novels, to manga, to fanfics, to historic or informative books, whatever), etc.

Enjoy the process of learning new skills and knowledge.

• Work on your self-esteem and confidence, and don't be afraid of showing yourself through your clothes and accessories.

If you want to be more feminine-looking, be more feminine! If you want to be more masculine-looking, be more masculine! Or be androgynous ♡

• Do things you used to do or always wanted to do when you were a kid.

Doing things we used to do or never got a chance to do (or stuff we couldn't have) as kids will help us stay in touch with our inner child, to take care of it and even heal it.

Then, write down how you felt doing such stuff.
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Visit places with animals where you can interact with them or take care of them.

Like reservation centres or animal shelters. Give those animals some love, and at the end of the day, write down how it felt to visit and interact with them.
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Travel and/or visit new places.

If you can afford to travel to other cities or countries, do it! Alone or with friends, and write your experience.

If you can't afford it, visit new places in your city, visit monuments, parks, etc, and write down how the experience was!
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Spend time with friends/family, not always alone.

Go to museums, to a restaurant, to the cinema, on a walk, with friends or family, or just spend time with your pets in the park or playing at home.

Write down how you felt doing these things and what other things you would like to do with them!
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Try new hobbies or learn new things about your hobbies!

Are you interested in cooking? Try new recipes! Paint/draw? Try new techniques/styles! Do you like learning about history or myths? Learn about the history or the myths from cultures that aren't well known! Etc.

And write your opinions!
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Take pictures when you go out or at home and print some of them (if you have a physical notebook). They can be pictures of yourself or scenery/landscape.

Add these pictures to the notebook. Write the date they were taken, and write some storytime or why you took them.

Keep good memories.
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Try out new food and/or treat yourself with food you like that you don't usually eat.

Enjoy the food, and just like Dreamcatcher, do: eat whatever you want but exercise to stay fit (exercise can be things like dancing or just go on walks).

Then write if your opinion about the food!
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
• Go on a walk near nature, it can be a river, a lake, a park with trees and bushes, a forest, a mountain, a beach, wherever.

Enjoy the scenery, then, at home, write about the experience, how you felt? Did you like it?
June 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Reminder that you don't need to write every day in the notebook. You just need to use it when you feel like it. Don't force yourself.

If you're feeling down or bad about yourself, you can write a positive thing about yourself every day if you need it.
June 11, 2025 at 12:23 AM
Keep that notebook/text document dedicated to this.

You can go write somewhere near nature, like a park, a lake, whatever.

Use it every time you need to vent or rant about something. You can express your overthinking, stress, anxiety, sadness, etc, or to reflect on whatever topic you need.
June 11, 2025 at 12:19 AM
Now, choose one thing out of the 10 good things you wrote about yourself, and draw or write something based on it, like, be creative with it.

It can be a small drawing or a short writing (like a short poem, for example), etc, but it can also be a more elaborate work, whatever you want.
