Lapsed musician and historian now working to ensure diversity in the defense industrial base
The first state to authorize troops for the Union was Minnesota.

“Minnesota: thank you. We saw powerful peace,” said Gov. Walz. “We have every reason to believe that peace will hold. Yesterday, I directed the National Guard to be ready should they be needed.”

In speaking with industry partners, also small businesses, it’s increasingly disheartening to hear how the DoW is publicly saying we need to increase DIB and focus on small business but increasingly working to enact policy to exclude SB competition.

The SBIR/STTR program is set to expire on 30 Sept. If this administration is serious about expansion of the Defense Industrial Base, this program is the backbone of that strategy.

This is heartbreaking. I was a regional coordinator in undergrad. It was amazing to see the excitement, commitment, and competitive spirit the students of all ages had. Every year this reignited my love of history, learned some new things, and made me hopeful of the next generation.
I just got confirmation that National History Day, a program that does more to ignite K-12 students' love of history, learning, and yes, even the United States than anything else I've ever seen, had all its funding cut yesterday by the DOGE-axe at the NEH - including for this year's ongoing contest.

The SBA has made it worse for SDVOSB to register as such. I have gone through the application 4x and all have been timed out due to waiting on help to register - time to restart yet again.

Multiple conversations today about how the DoD is wanting to expand the industrial base but now is only looking at SV backed companies and again leaving behind traditional DoD focused small businesses. I believe it to be as a way to get “free money.”

I still think the US should have a similar forum as the UK Prime Minister’s Questions.
