your direction when you walk too fast. Of course, these are just my personal preference and ideas. I think players should be treated as smart individuals and give them help on the side if they need it, not immediately assault them with tutorials, but that's me. Everyone preferences are different ^^

In your specific use case, I think the sound visuals are pretty obvious and don't really need an explanation, but you could add an indicator on the top of the enemies head to show their alert status or maybe just make them grunt and turn to

In my opinion, a button prompt and good UI are better to show a player what to do.
For example, when the player is in a spot where she can hide, show label over her head like "press x to hide", then you can show a little popup saying "hiding mechanic tutorial available in the tutorial menu"

My personal take is that I really don't like verbose tutorials, especially when the mechanic is not new (in the context of games) or complicated. Everyone hates the classic "move with WASD" because we know how to move in videogames, same with mechanics like attacking or hiding.
