There’s a global system for writing names on passports that doesn’t allow any diacritical marks whatsoever!! No apostrophes for surnames no é or ö for irish, french or german names. How bizarre, especially when passports are often used as proof of name.

I’ve been under the impression that since 2019 I’ve been on Virgin Media’s fastest broadband plan, the 1Gig. When streaming I’d be playing online games with 6+ people while also on a discord call, 5000 tabs open, AND live streaming to twitch often with upwards of 600 chatters. 🧵

I don’t think I would have ever knowingly subscribed to such a slow internet speed given the needs I had while streaming?
But also feeling that I’ve been duped by Virgin into having low speeds while thinking I have high speeds feels very conspiracy minded & insane.

oh it means that it’s meant in a positive way, not an insulting way! i’m aware this may not have been oxbridge but it still feels oxbridge coded to me, very common to discover that another student with a famous surname is actually part of The Famous Family etc.

I’m from the UK. Do USians call hail sleet? Over here hail is hard ice falling from the sky, snow is flakes and sleet is rain mixed with snow (not audible like hail)
