@proton.me What is this, in-app promo ads? I already subscribe... as such I do not want an AD in the APP, an email blast I can opt-out of, sure. But an ad that I cannot dismiss, or opt out of.... come on... thought you were supposed to be better than this?

Now that a proper HiFi system is planned for Q4 '25, I’ve gone through my old CD stash. Presenting the Pile of Shame: albums with missing discs, lost somewhere between the 90s and early '00s. Some will be tracked down and replaced. 2 or 3 are probably gone for good. Any guesses as to which?

One person. One umbrella. One message carried quietly across oceans. On a sunny day in Bergen, she stood alone, back to me, a blue umbrella overhead, yellow notes fluttering in the breeze. During the Hong Kong protests, umbrellas shielded faces as acts of both defiance and protection. It felt only right to do the same, to witness, but not expose. Shot on my Mamiya C330 with CineStill 50D — sunlit stillness, captured the slow way.

Between Movements

She sat sideways on the bench, legs folded, red backpack tucked close, like she was just passing through, but in no hurry to leave. Around her, pallet-planted trees and festival flower beds softened the square’s edges, lending the space a borrowed calm. Shot on a Nikon D850 with…

Around her, pallet-planted trees and festival flower beds softened the square’s edges, lending the space a borrowed calm. Shot on a Nikon D850 with the 50mm f/1.4 AF-S G, a lens that lets me stay present without shouting “photographer.” It doesn’t loom, doesn’t intrude. I have to get closer, sure, but that’s part of the dance. A quiet negotiation between distance and presence.

A Dance to Remember

The answer: a smile, then motion. for a moment, the world fell away. a dance to remember brief, and somehow enough. A street performer played something tender. One girl reached for the other, wordless. The offer was simple: dance with me. She did — and for a moment, nothing…

One girl reached for the other, wordless. The offer was simple: dance with me. She did — and for a moment, nothing else existed. Just laughter, motion, and a rhythm only they could hear.

Leave No Vibes Behind

Somewhere between a surplus store and a spaghetti war film, he found his look; WWII helmet, denim jacket, shorts, sneakers, and a moped ready to deploy. Could’ve been an extra in Kelly’s Heroes, but he’s clearly starring in his own reel. Shot on a Nikon F6 with the 50mm f/1.4…

Could’ve been an extra in Kelly’s Heroes, but he’s clearly starring in his own reel. Shot on a Nikon F6 with the 50mm f/1.4 AF-S G, loaded with Kodak Tri-X 400. Total serendipity — the iconic grain and tone of Tri-X couldn’t have fit the vibe better if I’d planned it.

The Pause

She caught the signal, a nod, a raised camera. No words exchanged. She stopped, posed like a pro, and rode on without missing a beat. This is why I call it Out of Context · Art. Every frame is a fragment of time. The moment it’s captured, the context slips away. What’s left is a pause in…

Every frame is a fragment of time. The moment it’s captured, the context slips away. What’s left is a pause in motion, a story with no beginning or end, just the beat where everything held still.

Goodest boy

Goodest boy.. ... gets what he deserves Racism is a human trait — dogs don’t carry that burden. In the middle of a counter-demonstration, this good boy wasn’t interested in slogans or signs. He saw someone worth meeting and waited. She crossed the space, knelt, and offered nothing but kindness. No words exchanged, just a shared pause in the noise — a moment of unspoken solidarity between strangers. Shot on a Mamiya C330 with Fujifilm Pro 400H (still mad they discontinued it).

Counterspell

When hate marched in with slogans, they showed up with flutes, flowers, and feline diplomacy. Resistance doesn’t always roar — sometimes it purrs and plays in key. Shot on a Mamiya C330 with Fujifilm Pro 400H. People tend to soften when they see this camera — it doesn’t scream “press”…

Shot on a Mamiya C330 with Fujifilm Pro 400H. People tend to soften when they see this camera — it doesn’t scream “press” like a DSLR. It invites curiosity, not defensiveness. Half the magic is in the lens. The other half is in being invited to witness.

These boots…

…were made for walking — and she’s clearly walked out of someone’s drama and straight into legend. Shot on a Mamiya C330 with Fujifilm Pro 400H — and yes, I somehow nailed focus on a moving subject with a TLR. Small miracles.
