Housing used to be subsidized but the current rents eat into salary gains. For context, people who get kicked out of housing make ~80K, hold PhDs and are >80% international. Suggestions on how to fight for more housing access?

My union went on strike at Mount Sinai Hospital and won a historic contract. Immediately after that, MSH raised rents for incoming folks because our contract has an annual rent increase limit of 2%. MSH receives tax breaks on the properties they own and lease to us. 1/2
