When people repudiate a Bishop’s plea of mercy for minorities and call for a voice of reason and compassion to be deported or worse…if you are one of these people—history will frown upon you and you’ll be complicit in what damages come to your fellow Americans. Total silence is also acceptance.

History is going to examine this time with critical eyes and many will have to reckon with the ways they did or did not respond to brutality and the attempted snuffing of American diversity. WHO are you choosing to be in this narrative? Will your children and grandchildren be ashamed of you one day?

Being apolitical is a privilege some people cannot afford. Some of our American neighbors are directly impacted by what is happening/what is to come. It’s critically important right now to let the people in your life know that you are a safe space at the very least.

I’m sincerely scared for minorities in the US. The “mass deportation” reeks of enslavement in camps. Our politicians putting their investments toward private prisons paints a clear picture. We must protect our neighbors. If ice comes, get the word out, go for a little jaunt to waste their time🏃🏻‍♀️💨
