are you old enough to remember when appliances lasted a lifetime? Everything now is deliberately made to be disposable so we need to constantly replace it. The really ‘good stuff‘ is not accessible to the middle class.

What is there to explain? Wealthy individuals & corporations have bought up single family homes as investments, driving up the price of houses; realtors have encouraged bidding wars. I‘m not going to share the absurd amount I paid for my house, it’s not worth half what I paid BUT ‘that’s the market’

How to explain to a person who has spent his entire life wheeling and dealing in the real estate world that housing isn’t meant go be an ‘investment’ and that THAT mentality is the problem. The rich need to put their extra millions in a forking mattress.
