Esri Performance Engineering. From Warwickshire, England. Mapper, photographer, explorer, and tech evangelist. The views expressed here are my own, and getting more cynical with age.
The world has lost a giant of conservation and a beacon of hope. Jane Goodall changed not only how we see chimpanzees, but how we see ourselves. Her legacy will inspire generations to come.

Scratching my head at this one… “Heirloom Cartography” makes no maps, just genealogy charts. Their registered web domain seems to back this up.

Unless they expand soon to include cartographic offerings, I’d say this is misleading…

Luckily, Sinclair has a helpful database of all their stations, so you can see if they're operating in your area and respond accordingly.

It still astounds me that many commentators and reporters refer to the Bay Area’s tech innovation corridor as “Silicone Valley”.

We’re doing something new this year! Look for small signage in the Map Gallery alongside each map that exemplifies excellence and is a finalist to possibly win in each map category. Winners announced on Friday! #EsriUC

Super excited for the debut. Can’t believe David is almost 99. It’s going to carry maybe his most powerful message yet. #ocean @deepseadawn.bsky.social

I agree that a formal classification for the title of “astronaut” is long overdue. Amongst these qualifications should be a career dedicated to science and human progress. Anything else is merely “space tourism”.

I see large applications for scientific and environmental monitoring, including remote sensing and general telemetry.

After reviewing the sobering video footage and watching this explanation, “mast bumping” definitely seems like a plausible explanation for the Hudson River helo crash.

One of the most sobering post-apocalyptic films I’ve ever watched was the early 1980’s cult classic, “Threads”. I’m hearing word that it’s going to be remade into a miniseries. The original is still available online. Food for thought in the current geopolitical climate. tubitv.com/movies/53144...
