This policy caps grad nursing loans at $20.5k (from $50k) during a workforce crisis.

It tells nursing students: your education doesn’t matter.

It tells practicing nurses: your degree doesn’t count.

When my kids brag “my mom’s a doctor AND a nurse”—they get it.

In 2020, nurses were heroes.

In 2025, the Dept of Education says nursing isn’t a professional degree.

Three generations of my family are nurses. We are researchers, clinicians, educators, leaders.

This is personal. And it’s wrong.
