And for the staff, this is more than just a job. They say they’re role models for the students and they want them to have options outside of the boxes they’ve already been put in.

Jade enjoys being able to do things that aren’t classically academic, she says it’s given her hope for the future.

Habib is 15 - he is one of the students that’s been at this pupil referral unit the longest. He says it’s made him enjoy learning because of the support he know gets.

On @itvlondon this evening - I spent the day at a PRU to speak to students who have been excluded from mainstream education. Data from the DoE shows 85% of children cautioned or sentenced for serious violent crime are persistently absent but this school hopes to tackle this.
