A little walk to the pub via Cotehele National Trust 🌿❄️🍻

A bloody lush pint of Cornish pale ale being held up in front of the bar / log burner - beer brewed locally by friends - Heathen Brewery - in a local pub, The Carpenter’s, Metheral, SE Cornwall The sun setting over the apple orchards in the gardens of Cotehele National Trust, just up the hill from Calstock, overlooking the village / River Tamar. One of the apple trees with lots of fallen, golden apples on the ground, in Cotehele National Trust’s orchard. The grass is a beautiful green, there are a few apples still clinging to the bare branches. Looking across to Cotehele National Trust property (in SE Cornwall) a beautiful Tudor house with stunning gardens - lucky to have this gorgeous historic site on my doorstep.

Thin places 🍂💫🌲

A dark wood with an autumnal covered floor and tall dark trees - some with green leaves - reaching up into the sky above. This is Tamar Trails woods, hugging the Devon banks of the River Tamar and covering an old mine. Some parts of these woods feel ancient and magical and I’m sure in parts, are thin places - where the veil between this world and a spiritual world are especially thin. It’s quite hard to see but lots of bracken, ferns, shrubbery and trees have formed a natural archway - another thin place, maybe ... This is Tamar Trails woods, hugging the Devon banks of the River Tamar and covering an old mine. Talk, dark trees with green leaves are reaching up into the sky. We’ve been pumpkin’ing 🎃 🍂

Stood on one of Dartmoor’s rocky Tors, with a lone, bare tree stood in the distance, its branches bending to the left because of the winds / weather up here. In the distance a landscape of fields and in the very far distance, a glimpse of Plymouth Sound. The sky is white and glowy. Stood on one of Dartmoor’s rocky, granite Tors, looking out towards Plymouth Sound, South East Cornwall and across to the edge of Bodmin. The ground is littered with rocks, grass, moss and auburn ferns. The sky is heavy and grey but in the distance the sky is brighter and glowing.

A well-lit, 2-carriage train midway over the Calstock Viaduct that links Cornwall to Devon(rest of England!), spanning the River Tamar. It’s 7:15pm so the light is fading fast now so it’s getting kind of dark. You can still see the reflections of the viaduct and the train in the river below. A handful of small boats in the foreground and resting, moored up on the banks of the River Tamar as the tide is heading out. In the background the Calstock Viaduct which spans the River Tamar - linking Cornwall to Devon - has the remains of the day’s gentle sunset behind it. It’s 7:15pm so the light is fading fast, now.
