This is the same in my home.
Including trans rights are human rights. Trans women are real women just as trans men are real men. Also, Indigenous lives matter.

And they come with all the issues of capitalist greed. Your fancy Perrier? Contaminated by fecal bacterias, with a filtration system that wasn't compliant with regulations, which Nestlé and the French state tried to hide.
Before choosing bottled water over tap water, remember it takes more than 10X the water that a bottle of water holds to make the plastic bottle and transport the water. And that’s before considering the fuel and GHGs, the 1000 year bottle life, and the RIDICULOUS amount of $ we’re paying for water.

How does #CBSA justify charging me $49.99 ($40.04 HST & $9.95 handling fee) for a small gift from UK with a value of £2.50?!! CSBA claims the value of duty for a small, plastic and very cheap tree ornament is $307.98! That’s bloody insane and a rip off!!😡

Woke up to fog and hoarfrost, making our trees look magical.

I just spent over 3 hours playing monopoly with my 9 yr old grandson. This is a huge deal. In fact, it’s almost worthy of celebration considering one of us is 9 yrs old & we are both ADHD. 🤣
Game isn’t finished. We paused it until morning only because I’m old & my back is killing me. 😏

Have you started or thought about starting a Reverse Advent Box for your local food clinic? Sooner you donate, the better. Allows volunteers time to sort through everything. Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard estimates 550 families will need assistance.
Please…check expiration dates before donating.

I was 22 & 23 years old when the Jays won back to back World Series and we celebrated all night.
Now at 56, I just want it to end so I can go to bed.
God, I’m old.

Mia’s frustrated that she can’t catch Pepper. Pepper’s only concern is getting my attention for peanuts.
Ignore the dirty window. It’s hard to keep clean when little noses & paws pressing on the glass.
Mia’s bald streak on her back is a reaction to seasonal allergies. It’s improving. #catsky

Getting a start on the Halloween loot bags. 60 done so far, 100 to go.
Loot bags include glow sticks in hopes that it helps the kids be more visible to Autowa drivers. We had too many accidents this year, involving vehicles as it is. Just trying to do my part to prevent more on Halloween night.

Yesterday, was a beautiful day to volunteer at Just Food Fall Farm Fest. Great to meet some of the other wonderful volunteers, see the number of people come out, talk to local vendors & support local businesses with many purchases. Looking forward to doing it again.

You know it’s autumn when I spend my days in the kitchen.
I went apple picking last week. I have more than a crisper drawer full of apples. So far, made apple oatmeal cookies and roasted apple & butternut squash soup. Comfort food & soup season is upon us! 😋

I struggle making pies & pastries but this is my attempt of making pear, walnut & dried berry galette. A neighbour gifted us pears from his tree, so I made 2 galettes. Don’t let the appearance fool you. It tastes so much better than it looks.

Living donors are the among the best people you will ever meet.
Being legally blind, Bob faced much adversity in his life. That didn't stop him when the time came to donate his kidney to Amber, saving her life. Congratulations to you both on celebrating over a month #kidneystrong!

I was at hospital for appointment, I saw no one wearing a mask besides myself. The nurse that took my vitals wore a mask once they saw I had one on. My transplant nurse, a resident & my new specialist didn’t wear one. Wth? They all know transplant patients are immune-suppressed & very vulnerable. 🤦‍♀️

A few strawberries I picked from my garden last week made for a delicious ingredient in a chicken, spinach & feta salad for today’s lunch. I’m honestly surprised I was able to get any before the squirrels & chipmunks stole them. Enjoyed lunch outside with said critters.

Thanks to my garden, I was able to enjoy this veggie wrap. Spinach, carrot, cucumber, tomato, onion and sweet pepper were all harvested this morning for this light & delicious lunch. I’m starting to experience gardening fatigue but the rewards remind me why I do it.

Beautiful day to enjoy the backyard to read a book and observe the critters who visit.

I was worried about my garden when away for almost 2 weeks but it seems I had nothing to worry about. Not the most perfect or prettiest veggie omelette but tasty. Spinach, yellow pepper, onion & tomatoes are all curtesy of the garden.
Man, food tastes so much better when from your own garden.
