This is the first issue of Analog that I remember reading. At the age of 10, I found the cover story clever & thrilling. It's still a cool cover. I now think Verge Foray's "Lost Calling" might be the best in the issue.

I'm reading this one now. Aside from the cover story, there's fine work by Tom Purdom, W. Macfarlane, J. T. McIntosh, and Carroll M. Capps.

This one is not signed, but the fiction is surprisingly good. "Frontier of the Dark," by Bertram Chandler is wild, and a real departure for Campbell. Astounding, Sept. '52.

One thing you should know. I've been reduced from 10- to 1-finger typing. Concision, yes. That said, I'm reading 1952 Astoundings. A form of time travel in both directions.

Signed on the contents page; I guess he didn't think there was room on the cover.

Also signed, tho it's hard to see. Feb. '57 Astounding, Freas cover.

Another 50s Freas cover. He was my favorite magazine/book cover artist for years.

Another Astounding with a signed Freas cover.

Note the signature. Freas and I were almost neighbors for a few years.
