I asked this once on the other site and got a good response, so here goes again:

Historians, what is the thing that made you go ‘wait, wut?’ in the archives or in your research?

Another day, another university in crisis. This time it's Canterbury Christ Church, to lose say 400 jobs and over a quarter of posts. The reality of what is happening in UK Higher Education - and even worse, what is about to happen - is crushing. I'm so sorry. www.kentonline.co.uk/canterbury/n...
Uni staff told in video call 400 jobs could go to save £20m
More than a quarter of jobs at a university could be slashed in a bid to save £20 million, KentOnline can reveal.

I'm very excited to share the programme for our conference on Malcolm X's visit to Smethwick in 1965. This was a huge event in modern British history, but is not as well-known or well-understood as it should be. Please come along on Saturday 8th Feb 2025 to learn more!

It may change because of the state of the other place, but my last post is a sign of how little I've been on here because I ran this seminar again today...
Recently enjoyed a couple of hours discussing Kennetta Hammond Perry's excellent 'London is the Place for Me' with some of our MA students - always enjoy returning to this brilliant book!
