Our best pelargonium
Pink species pelargonium with small pretty flowers. Leaves and flowers are very delicate but the plant is tough

First poppy of the year
Lots of flowers, mainly different pinks. A great variety, some a bit startling. I’d say pungent but it’s not a visual word! English herbaceous border style.

Roses are performing well this year.
Pink and white rose. Overall white with stripey pink flushes Rose called Desdemona is a lovely creamy white with large blooms

Magpies are using the neighbour’s mistletoe for their nest. Very untidy
A mistletoe plant high up in a tree. A big green blob. A pile of sticks and twigs piled on top of that.

At Botallack today in the sunshine. I expect the miners had it worse most of the time
Sunny day in Cornwall near St Just. Botallack is where the tin mine buildings are perched on rocky cliffs. The mines extend under the sea which looks very rough even on a placid day. The remaining shells of the old buildings are very lively
