Jesse, what an embarrassment for a person... Fantastic to hear the crowd demonstrate their 'appreciation' - they're no fools: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt3Q...

"The music score was decent at the end.
There.
Something positive." ;-) Frustrating when films miss the mark so wildly.
I remember enjoying 'In the Heart of the Sea' (2015) (as another film ~adaptation) however, I'm not sure now if it was just because of the spectacle - it might need a rewatch...

Thanks for the review - I was planning to watch it but might now give it a miss. I've got a bit of soft spot for the story for its critique of the Age of Enlightenment (Victor i.e. overemphasis on 'Enlightenment thinking' as irresponsible father, and his monster as the product of his neglect).

Tommy Robinson claimed he was moving cash abroad because he could not open a bank account in the UK. The reality tells a very different story. Court documents show that he filed for bankruptcy in 2021...

For some, it's all about identity (much easier than having to engage with ideas).

The sheer scale of US mass shootings compared to everywhere else gets me. I was also quite surprised to see how (relatively) recent the phenomenon is. Makes you realise how normalised expectations have become - as effectively, there have been 360 x Dunblane massacres so far this year in the US!
