Euston Square Gardens South was a 1920’s land grab — 100 yrs later much the same is happening again.
Writing in 1923 to the Times university constituency MP Sir Sydney Russell-Wells stated
“once built on, it goes without saying that the land is lost forever”

Can Euston Square [Gardens] be Saved — letter to the Times written by university constituency MP Sir Sydney Russell-Wells.
The letter refers to the lost South side of Euston Square Gardens — now occupied by buildings housing; Friends House, offices, BT telephone exchange, and Prezzo chain restaurant.
