Well, yes, if I account for the inverter's heat loss as usage then the rule holds true. The only issue what that is that the loss isn't accounted for using, say, my MyEnergi statistics, which are then a little incorrect.

In the video, you say that (gen + import) = (usage + export) but personally I don't find that to be the case. The reason being that I get ~10% loss in the inverter when grid charging batteries and another ~10% loss through discharge.
