A graphomaniac, a verbivore—a fabulist, but only in the best way these days. I do my best to mollify the passel of characters that pester my psyche with their desires for whatever form of substantiation I can provide.

Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children against deadly childhood diseases. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone

I wonder who will receive those grants now. I will start tracking the new recipients. And what if the work itself contains themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion, which in American lit would be about any story worth telling.

And sure, not to be confused with the Sitka people, a first nation, indigenous people of Alaska. You set me wondering at first how and why the Sitka had invaded Leitrim.

Me too on the joys of research. My character stumbles upon the decisive battle of the Roman second civil war at Andrianopoulos. A real tongue twister, but a fair amount of research revealed its ancient Thracian name. Now we have The Fields of Uzkadama. Rolls off the tongue-non?
