5. "Canadian already have bank accounts." Over 1 million Cdns are "unbanked" (no account) and 5 million "underbanked"(rarely use banking services). France's postal bank specifically targets underserved customers with low, capped fee accounts as well as credit-building products. We could do the same.

4. "Canada Post doesn't have banking expertise." A postal bank could draw upon the banking expertise in the federal government via institutions like Farm Credit Canada or the Business Development Bank. Both Canadian Tire and PC entered into banking - did they have equivalent expertise to draw on?

2. "Canada is vast and sparsely populated." Wouldn't this be a point in favour of a postal bank that can rely on Canada Post's vast logistics and infrastructure to reach into rural and remote communities that are no longer served by a physical bank?

1. "Other countries postal banks are well-established." Yes, some postal banks are 100s of years old, but usually only for savings accounts. Offering a full slate of banking services is relatively new, like France's Banque Postal est. 2005 that now serves more than 10 million customers.
