I went to a de-escalation training put on by first-responders in Portland and was equally mortified and entertained at how bad it was. And it was like their special non-police response unit. Absolute joke.

Thats really good value rendering for early attempts on the grinder!! Unsolicited shop talk: I try to have a 2b a 4b and a 6b pencil for value stuff, playing with graphite softness can really open up some pathways. (6b-9b make really nice dark gushy marks & I personally gravitate toward them!)

My first impressions after 3 months last year: you have to be at least a little crazy to drive, public utility systems are iffy, and of course the storms. Did my first hurricane. But damnit, people are KIND here (not just nice). As a very visible trans gal it's the most affirming place I've been. ⚜️
