A silly little experiment because I had an hour to kill 🧑‍🎄😄

(I do not expect this to make it into Festivitas 😆)

I am not saying you should nominate Runestone or Festivitas.

Buuuuuut… 😄

Seriously, go nominate an app. Any app. You’ll make a developer happy. Along with the Apple Design Award, MacStories’ awards are the only ones worth winning. They’re prestigious, fair, and coming from a genuine place.
🕧 Time is running out for Club MacStories members to nominate their favorite app for the 2025 MacStories Selects Readers' Choice Award. 🏆

🚨 The deadline is tomorrow (Nov. 12) at Noon Eastern U.S. time. 🚨

I really enjoy this stretch right after a long crunch, when I finally feel like I deserve to rest. I watch movies, play games, explore non-programming hobbies, and sometimes just do nothing.

That said, I cannot wait to get the Festivitas update into your hands on November 25 😄

After a five-month-long dispute that needed a broker involved, I finally got my refund for an espresso machine that turned faulty just before its first birthday.

So now I can finally say this to fellow espresso enthusiasts in Scandinavia: do not do business with Rigtig Kaffe.

Coming to Festivitas this holiday season: Shortcuts! 🎄

Turn on your festive lights at sunset, make them twinkle when it starts snowing, change the colors to match your favorite holiday playlist, and much more.

It always trips me up that navigating back and forth in Xcode jumps between tabs. Safari doesn’t do that. It’s so unintuitive that Xcode’s tabs are rendered completely useless to me.

Either macOS Tahoe, Xcode 26, or a combination of them broke my Mac's audio back in June. The only fix is running `sudo killall coreaudiod` several times a day. Others are seeing it too. It has been months and Apple still hasn’t fixed it. Their software quality is spiraling down.

Idea for a Mac app: run any app in picture-in-picture. Sometimes I just want to keep an eye on something, like Terminal or Slack, while writing or watching a video. Pick a window and have a live mirror of it in the corner.

Help me out, Bluesky. I need XY coordinates of widgets on iPhone and iPad Home Screens for all zoom levels, orientations, and icon sizes.

I’ve done iPhones on iOS 26, but the thought of doing Pads and more iOS versions is killing me.

Is there a faster way than screenshots and measuring?

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

I built my first ChatGPT app! 🚀

It connects with my Philips Hue lights so I can control them directly from ChatGPT. After logging in with my Hue account, I can view the status of my lights and control them with natural language.
