How do you get that? If I take the SSA actuarial tables and multiply survival prob to that age x death prob x remaining life expectancy, I get 0.45 years at age 0, vs 0.21 years at age 60 for men (similar for women)

These guys are supposed to be into looking for ways to scale solutions to problems. And as you point out, we did: they’re called state universities.

If you look at a list of the Top 100 US universities, typical the only ones in the list founded after WWII are the newer UCs.

MIT and Stanford enroll 3k undergraduates each year , or about 0.1% of graduating high schoolers in the US. They can’t also get in because, well, most people don’t!
