That's where ChatGPT shines – transforming simple statements into puffy language, consuming the recipient's resources until they cede to resist :) Remember to always use the right tool for the right job!

It has been tested in battle, for sure – and lost. 😆

Hm, I guess it's "just" for cross-organizational group messaging, seemingly called "Group external messages" on their pricing page (slack.com/pricing). As our org is mandating MS Teams, I'm out of luck using lucid threaded communication ;)

I haven't been using Slack for quite a while now, but when I had to last year, it seemed to require a subscription if you wanted to communicate with more than one person (from other organisations?) at a time; don't remember wether that's been so at the beginning…

Exclusive: Neon takes down app after exposing users' phone numbers, call recordings, and transcripts
Call recording app Neon was one of the top-ranked iPhone apps, but was pulled offline after a security bug allowed any logged-in user to access the call recordings and transcripts of any other user.

So agents don't need an interface for their users? ;)

At Fox News, there are no journalists, I think.

AFAIK that reddit translation is not done by Google, but is a "feature" of the reddit site (toggled by the Google indexing systems).

Well, they don't have such an option in YT right now :( I think one can only add additional languages one understands to the Google account to disable auto-dubbing in YT for these languages, but then I also get Search results in these languages by default (which I don't want, just English ones).
August 13, 2025 at 9:59 AM
No, but users should have a choice whether they want to use that feature at all. I don't want to have everything auto-dubbed to English. I'm not at all against auto-dubbing, just against having no choice to change whether to use it by default or not.
August 13, 2025 at 9:53 AM
yes, but the default (for me) is "auto-dubbed (English)", and I need to manually choose differently for languages that I do understand. There's no option for me to have "Original" as default (and let me choose otherwise _when I want_ to).
August 13, 2025 at 9:49 AM
If I, as the user, could decide whether I want to use that feature, it would be great. But I don't see an UI option to enable/disable that feature – it's getting shoved down my throat whether I like it or not.

We have German localized ones, too – but they're also using commonly-used English words on them, which might be confusing in false-friends cases like this ("Bestie" as a German word means "Beast" in English)

Never had one of these expensive SCSI systems (always wanted to, though 😎) – my very first expansion card was a mono Soundblaster clone (for my very first PC, a 386SX@20MHz machine), ISA naturally (pre-configured 220/7/1 IIRC).
