I'm reading this monster because the fellas at @theresthistory.bsky.social recommended it on their podcast and I'm easily led.
I'd recommend 'The King's Watch' series by Mark Hayden if you liked The Rivers of London books.

Herself was at the staff Christmas Do last night, leaving me to sort the hens this morning.

I just laid there thinking, 'I'm now an auld wan who falls.'
The 3 eggs I'd collected flew out of my pocket.
I could only find 2 until I took my fleece off..
